9.1 Where WPML Adds Switchers by Default

After the Setup Wizard, WPML automatically places basic switchers in:

  • Primary menu (if your theme declares a menu location)

  • Footer (via a widget area most themes have)

  • WPML → Languages → “Menu language switcher” and “Footer language switcher”

You can remove or heavily customize all of them.
